PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE - A CHILDREN'S SHOW
Opens Thursday March 27th, 6pm
Merit awards presented at the opening
The Fire Barn Gallery presents "PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE A CHILDREN'S SHOW", featuring work by area K-6th graders.
Art made by children holds a fascination on many levels. "When I consider the difference between the art of children and that of adults, my first thought is the inhibition factor. I think that witnessing that kind of uninhibited expression, and the totally unique form it takes, is something that resonates with a lot of us…" Chris Protas, director/curator.
For this show, children from the Grand Haven area between kindergarten and 6th grade are being asked to create work on one of 3 themes: The Past, The Present or The Future.
To participate, work should be 2D, any medium, 30" or smaller in either dimension, and should be unframed. Work can be dropped off at the gallery March 23rd, 24th, or 25th between 117pm. Be sure to sign the piece and write your contact info on the back. The show will be up through April 11.
There will also be an opportunity to participate in the creation of a drawing on the wall of the gallery on March 22nd and 23rd between 11-4pm. Children accompanied by a parent or guardian are invited to show up during that time, and materials will be provided!
Gallery director will give merit awards at the opening, which is Thursday March 27th, 6pm. This show is sponsored by J. Morgan Jewelers Ltd, Fine Jewelers.
